Where did the name come from?

This is a question that we get asked quite a bit.  'White Harvest Energy' is a reference to John 4:35:

Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'?  Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!  -NKJV

A "White Harvest" implies that the fields are ripe and ready to be harvested.  The statement above was Jesus addressing his disciples concerning the people of the nearby town.  He was pointing out that the disciples were missing an obvious opportunity to share Jesus with people that were "prepared" (or ripe) in their hearts to receive him.  They knew of a coming Messiah from scripture and were obviously interested, but the disciples were concerned with food and their own agenda at the time.

So how does that relate to our name?  Well, we share a similar view on the energy industry.  As a mature industry, it is typically slow to adapt to changing markets, technology and regulations.  The problem is that many energy consumers are ready for new approaches, new technology, new ideas.  Technology exists today that can be applied in a meaningful, helpful and even profitable way.  Our feeling is that these steps can and should be taken now, without waiting.   The fields are ripe for harvest, let us help you in the work.
